Mostar and Kravica Tours from Dubrovnik: Border, Prices and Time at the Falls

11 shared tours cost roughly 30 to 120 EUR and 9 private ones roughly 120 to 1,000 EUR. The day is about 10 hours with a border crossing, and the falls get one to one and a half of them.

Eleven shared tours from Dubrovnik to Mostar and the Kravica Waterfalls cost roughly 30 to 120 EUR. Nine private ones cost roughly 120 to 1,000 EUR. The median on the chart is neither, and it falls in the empty space between the two groups. That is the first thing to know about a Mostar and Kravica day trip from Dubrovnik: it is two products under one name. The second is that it crosses a border, and listings ask for a passport or an ID card. This page covers the day itself, the border, the price bands and who runs the tours. The falls, the gate ticket and the rules are on the Kravica Waterfalls page.

Starting in Bosnia or in Split instead? That day is on the Kravica Tours from Mostar, Sarajevo & Split page, where it typically costs 30 to 60 EUR from Mostar and 60 to 120 EUR from Split. The country comparison, with the Una falls and Jajce, is on the Bosnia and Herzegovina page. Prices on this page are as listed on 22 October 2026, and the border rules are those in the listings, not an official source. The tours on this page are all return trips from Dubrovnik hotels or pick-up points, except one that ends in Split, and most list a pickup. Ask what the pickup radius is before you book from outside the city.

A Mostar and Kravica day from Dubrovnik, hour by hour

What you get is a Mostar day with a waterfall at one end of it. If the falls are your reason, choose a tour that goes there first. The semi-private Laus tour does, arriving early, it says, before the crowds, while others reach Kravica later in the morning. We cannot confirm the crowd claim, so ask the operator which order the day runs in.

The Neretva river and the Old Bridge in the distance at Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mostar, where the day spends its time

Mostar sits on both banks of the Neretva, and the Old Bridge is the reason for the trip: a 16th-century Ottoman arch, according to one listing, which stood for 427 years until it was destroyed on 9 November 1993 and reopened on 23 July 2004 after reconstruction. The same listing says the Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The photo shows the river with the bridge in the distance. Tours here add a war museum, a Turkish house or a boat under the bridge, and lunch is on you. Many places do not take cards, though euros are accepted.

The border, the passport and what the listings charge

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a separate country, so a Dubrovnik day trip crosses a border each way. The listings agree on the paperwork. A current valid passport is required on the day, or an EU ID card on the Laus tour. That tour adds that you must confirm any visa requirements before crossing, and that a Schengen visa needs to be multiple entry. Super Tours calls its day a closed-door tour: you return to Dubrovnik with it, and it cannot be used as a one-way transfer. One Civitatis listing shows small customs fees per person as not included.

The ticket to Bosnia is a passport, not the voucher.

The Laus operator says its minivan of up to eight guests lets it skip long border queues, which we cannot verify. The listings do not say how the EU's Entry/Exit System applies at this crossing. If you are not an EU citizen, ask the operator before you book. The Civitatis route runs along the coast to Neum for a photo stop before Kravica.

What sets the price from Dubrovnik

Group size does most of the work. The Super Tours day, in the 30 to 60 EUR band, accepts bookings of up to 30 travelers. The Laus semi-private minivan, at 60 to 120 EUR, takes no more than eight guests. Both reach Kravica and Mostar in about the same hours. The words small group are not reliable: a listing titled Small-Group with Turkish House Included costs 30 to 60 EUR and holds 788 reviews at 4.5, while another small group listing with a stop in Ston costs 60 to 120 EUR. Open the listing for the number of guests.

Chart of the prices of the 20 Mostar & Kravica Tours from Dubrovnik listings on waterfalls.travel, median 115.5 EUR

Two price bands, and no middle

Each mark is one of the 20 listings, placed by length and price. The blue dots, 11 shared tours, sit between roughly 30 and 120 EUR at 9 to 12 hours. The orange diamonds, 9 private ones, sit between roughly 120 and 1,000 EUR at 6 to 11 hours. The dashed line is the median of all 20, and it passes through neither group.

The private unit is mixed: three listings, at roughly 120 to 500 EUR, are priced per person, while six, at roughly 250 to 1,000 EUR, quote one price for the whole group. A group day at that price shared by four people costs a good deal more each than a shared seat. One private listing is a one-way Dubrovnik to Split transfer with stops, in the 500 to 1,000 EUR band, for up to 7 travelers.

Shared, small group or private: how to choose

Three price bands among the 20 listings
Band Listings Typical hours What it is
30 to 60 EUR5 shared10 to 12 hoursThe cheapest day, with the Kravica gate extra
60 to 120 EUR6 shared9 to 12 hoursFewer guests or stops added, such as Ston; the Laus semi-private tour is in this band
roughly 120 to 1,000 EUR9 private6 to 11 hoursA vehicle and driver; six of the nine quote one price for the whole group; the one we opened includes the Kravica gate

Take the cheapest band if the schedule is all that matters and you can live with a crowd. Take the middle band if you want a smaller group and an operator that says in writing when you reach the falls. The private band pays for flexibility, not for savings: the Laus private tour, in the 500 to 1,000 EUR band, includes the Kravica entrance and the stops on the way, but for four people that comes to roughly twice the shared median each, and for two it is more still.

Ston, Počitelj and Medjugorje: the stops that change a day

Počitelj is the usual extra, a short stop on the way back on the Super Tours day and on the Laus private tour. Ston appears in two titles: a small group tour at 60 to 120 EUR and the one-way transfer to Split. Medjugorje, the pilgrimage town, leads the title of one private tour in the 500 to 1,000 EUR band for 10 hours, and a second private tour in the 120 to 250 EUR band for 8 hours adds it to Kravica and Mostar. If a listing names a stop you have no interest in, the hours it takes come out of the time at the falls.

Who runs the Dubrovnik tours

There are 16 operators, and one of them, Laus travel d.o.o., holds 39% of the 9,969 reviews through a semi-private tour (3,634 reviews, 4.9) and a private one. The top three listings hold 74%: Laus, Super Tours (2,303 reviews, 4.6) and Rock Tours (1,421, 4.8), the last two in the 30 to 60 EUR band. The weakest ratings are 4.2, for a Deep Green Travel full-day tour with 279 reviews and for the Civitatis day with 371. Weighted, the page averages 4.73, below the 4.92 of the Bosnian departures, and that is one reason to read the listing and not the title.

Mistakes people make on a Dubrovnik day trip to Bosnia

The first is expecting two hours at the waterfall: the listings say one to one and a half, and the rest is road and Mostar. The second is assuming the entrance is included. The Laus listing says it is not, a small amount in cash per person, and the Super Tours listing puts the falls under not included. The third is taking a round trip as a transfer: Super Tours is closed-door, and only one listing sells a one-way run. The fourth is arriving without cash, a towel or shoes with grip, because the listings warn about steps and slippery stone at the falls and in the old town. The fifth is booking a private tour thinking it is the shared day with better seats, when it is a different product: for six of the nine, one price covers the whole group.

Questions about Mostar and Kravica tours from Dubrovnik

How long is the drive from Dubrovnik to Kravica?

Operators and a travel blog say about 2 hours and 127 km each way. One listing says the day has at least 5 hours on board, with comfort stops each way. Mostar adds roughly another hour from Kravica, so the whole day is 10 hours at the median and up to 12.

Do I need a passport for the day trip?

Yes, or an EU ID card, according to the listings we opened. One adds that you must confirm any visa requirement yourself, and that a Schengen visa must be multiple entry. The listings do not say how the EU's Entry/Exit System applies at the crossing, so ask the operator if you are not an EU citizen.

Is the Kravica entrance included in the price?

Usually not. The Laus semi-private tour and the Super Tours day list it as an extra, a small amount in cash on the day, which is the official 20 KM at the fixed rate. The Laus private tour includes it. A listing that is silent on it is not including it.

How much time do you get at Kravica?

One hour on the Super Tours and Civitatis days, and 1.5 hours in summer on the Laus semi-private tour. Mostar gets up to three hours. If you want to swim, bring a towel and a change of clothes, as one operator advises.

Is a private tour from Dubrovnik worth it?

It buys flexibility and a vehicle, not savings. Split among four people it comes to roughly twice the shared median each, and you choose the stops and the times. For one or two travelers the shared day is the better deal.

Already in Bosnia, or leaving from Split?

The other tour page has the day from Mostar, from Sarajevo and from Split, in the 30 to 120 EUR range, with their stops.
