Victoria Falls Tours from Livingstone: the Zambia Side
Nineteen guided walks of Victoria Falls from Livingstone, most of them on the Zambian side, roughly 30 to 120 EUR, typically 60 to 120. On the eleven two-hour tours the price spans a full band, and much of the gap is what the gate and the vehicle are worth.
The same two-hour walk on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls is sold for anywhere from roughly 30 to 120 EUR. That is the first thing to know about the 19 tours on this page. Eleven of them last about two hours, and the biggest difference the listings do describe is the park entrance: the cheapest rainforest walk lists fees and taxes as included, and so does the private tour from Cherish Travel, together with water and a vehicle, while another private walk leaves the gate to you. Compare what is inside before you compare prices. The typical price is 60 to 120 EUR, the median length is 2 hours, and none of the 19 mentions a Devil's Pool swim in its title or summary. This page explains what the Zambian walk covers, what "from Livingstone" does and does not promise, and how the Zambian side changes with the river. The falls as a system, the parks and the water through the year are on the Victoria Falls page. A day that crosses the border is on the both sides of the falls page, and the Zimbabwean bank has its own page for the Zimbabwe side.
Prices are the provider's, in euros. The park entrance comes from the listings. We opened three of the 19 in full and read the rest from their titles, prices and the provider's summaries; six titles state that fees and taxes are included. One of the three is a tour of both banks that the catalog files here, and we flag it below.

Victoria Falls tours from Livingstone: what the walk covers
The Zambian walk is short because the Zambian side is compact: a set of lookouts along the edge of the gorge and a footbridge across a cleft, the Knife-Edge Bridge. The listings add the rainforest path and the Boiling Pot, the pool at the foot of the gorge. The shortest listing, in the 30 to 60 EUR band for one hour, names the rainforest, the Boiling Pot and the headland across the Knife-Edge Bridge. Another describes the side as closer and more intimate than the Zimbabwean one, with lookouts near enough to the edge that you feel the mist. That is the operator's description, and we cannot check it from the listings.
| Length | Listings | Price band | What the listings add |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | 1 | 30 to 60 EUR | Rainforest, Boiling Pot and the headland across the Knife-Edge Bridge; guide, water, transfer from Livingstone |
| 2 hours | 11 | roughly 30 to 120 EUR | A guided walk of the lookouts, usually with water and a vehicle |
| 3 hours | 6 | roughly 30 to 120 EUR | The same route at a slower pace; two are private, one in the 30 to 60 EUR band and one in the 60 to 120 EUR band |
| 4 hours | 1 | 60 to 120 EUR | Private, Zambia and Zimbabwe with border help; this is a both-sides tour |
What up close means here
The photo shows the kind of view the Zambian tours sell: a dark basalt cliff on one side, water dropping into the gorge on the other, spray hanging in the air. The listings say the lookouts on this side bring you close to the edge of the gorge.
Wear shoes with grip and carry something waterproof for the camera. A both-sides listing warns that phones and cameras get wet from the mist, especially at high water.
What "from Livingstone" means
Livingstone is the Zambian town, about 15 minutes by road from the falls according to one listing. The title promises a Zambian-side walk, not a Livingstone pickup. Of the three listings we opened, one offers a transfer from Livingstone. One lists transfers around Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and gives a Zimbabwean address as the meeting point. The third, a 4-hour private tour in the 60 to 120 EUR band, covers both countries and offers help at the border, which makes it a both-sides tour.
So check two things before you pay. Where are you collected? And does the tour cross a border? If you stay in Livingstone it will not. If you stay in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, a Zambian walk means the bridge, the immigration queue and possibly a visa.
The same two hours, a price band apart
Look at the column at two hours. Eleven listings, four of them private, run from roughly 30 to 120 EUR. The two listings with the most reviews, 24 each, are both private two-hour walks. One from Africa Travel Tours costs 30 to 60 EUR. The other, from Cherish Travel and Tours, costs 60 to 120 EUR. Both are rated between 4.8 and 5.0. The first walk leaves the park entrance to you, while the second listing includes fees, water and an air-conditioned vehicle, so much of the extra is the gate and the vehicle.
Eleven listings, one walk, a price band apart: check what the gate and the vehicle are worth.
Length does not explain the price either. A 3-hour listing from Dewclaw Eco Tours and Safaris costs in the 30 to 60 EUR band, less than most of the 2-hour ones, and has 15 reviews at 4.9.
The fee that is in some prices and not in others
Whether the park entrance is in the price depends on the listing. At least six titles say fees are included, among them the cheapest rainforest walk ("all fees and taxes") and the private tour from Cherish Travel. The private walk from Africa Travel Tours leaves it out and quotes an amount per person, and a both-sides listing quotes the same for the Zambian side. A 2026 tariff table we found elsewhere gives another figure, so ask the operator for today's amount. The same table says the gate takes cash only, so bring cash.
A visa is the other exclusion. It does not arise if you start in Livingstone. From the Zimbabwean side one both-sides listing recommends a KAZA UniVisa for eligible passports. That is a cost of the border, not of the walk.
When the Zambian side runs low
This is the one page on the site where the season changes the product. Zambia Tourism says that from October parts of the falls dry up and that around November and December little rivulets are left. Wikipedia puts the flood peak in April and the Zambia Tourism portal in March and April, and the spray is heaviest then. The Knife-Edge Bridge and the gorge are there in every month. What varies is how much water is falling beside them.
Water, spray and a rainbow
In the photo the river runs over the lip toward the gorge, with a rainbow standing in the spray. It is the picture the Zambian tours are sold on, and in the low months the water in it thins out. Devil's Pool is cut into the same lip on the Zambian side. No official body publishes opening dates; the Zambia Tourism portal says it is usually accessible in the low-water season, from about August to January.
None of the 19 listings here mentions the swim in its title or summary. The one we carry that does is a 10 hour listing above 250 EUR on the both sides page, and it is non-refundable.
Who runs these tours
Nineteen listings come from nineteen operators, and the 179 reviews are spread thin. Six listings carry 108 of them: Africa Travel Tours and Cherish Travel and Tours with 24 each, then HSM Adventures, Dewclaw Eco Tours and Safaris, Nekacheya Travel and Tours and Royal African Experiences with 15 each. Twelve listings have eight reviews or fewer. Guiding languages differ: of the three listings we opened, one offers English and French, and two add German and Spanish, one of them Italian too.
Our reading is that on a walk this short the guide matters more than the vehicle, so lean on the review count. Among the six best reviewed, prices run from roughly 30 to 120 EUR. The cheapest listing states that fees and taxes are included but has four reviews; the 3-hour listing in the 30 to 60 EUR band is longer than most and has 15 reviews at 4.9. Private tours are priced per person; none of the 7 quotes a group price.
Questions about Victoria Falls tours from Livingstone
Is the Zambian side better than the Zimbabwean side?
Operators say it is closer to the edge. Zambia Tourism says parts of the falls dry up from October. Neither is better in general. Which one fits depends on the month and on where you sleep.
How long does a Zambian-side tour take?
The listings run from 1 to 4 hours. Eleven of the 19 are about 2 hours and six are about 3. Add the time at the gate and the drive from your hotel, which is about 15 minutes from Livingstone town.
Does the tour include Devil's Pool?
None of the 19 listings mentions it in its title or summary. The one swim listing in our catalog is a 10-hour tour of both sides above 250 EUR with no refund. No official body publishes dates for Devil's Pool. The Zambia Tourism portal says it is usually accessible from about August to January.
How much is the park entrance?
At least six listings say fees and taxes are included. Two that leave it out quote an amount per person, and a 2026 tariff table gives another. Fees change, so ask the operator for today's figure and bring cash.
Do I need a visa for the Zambian side?
Not if you start in Livingstone. If you are staying on the Zimbabwean side you will cross the bridge. One listing recommends the KAZA UniVisa for eligible nationalities. Check your own passport's rules before you travel.
Want both banks in one day?
A both-sides tour typically costs 60 to 120 EUR for about five hours, but the park fees and a visa come on top.
